Enhancing Security and Safety in Manufacturing

Manufacturing

Compliance with fire and life safety regulations can reduce workplace accidents by up to 30%, highlighting the importance of proper installations like those provided by Connext. Ensuring access control systems meet regulatory standards is crucial for security and minimizing potential legal and insurance liabilities.

Challenge: A specialty branded product manufacturer was dealing with security and safety concerns at one of its national manufacturing facilities. A prior technology services provider performed subpar installations of door hardware and access control systems, failing to adhere to fire codes, life safety standards, and OSHA regulations. This created operational inefficiencies and significant liability risks for the company.

Solution: Connext was contracted to rectify the issues due to our strong reputation for quality and expertise in handling complex security installations. We started with the manufacturing location, troubleshooting, and correcting the improperly installed access control doors and surveillance cameras. This included ensuring compliance with fire safety standards, calibrating and refocusing cameras, and testing all systems to guarantee optimal performance. Connext also ensured that the access control doors were installed with the proper hardware, addressing the life safety issues caused by the previous provider.

Due to the quality of our work, responsiveness, and post-install support at the manufacturing site, Connext was awarded the contract to install access control doors and surveillance cameras at the manufacturer's headquarters, located in the historic Stutz Building in downtown Indianapolis. Our team conducted a comprehensive site survey and installed the access control and camera system to meet the facility's security and compliance needs.

Results: The manufacturing facility project was completed 100% on time and within budget, with all safety and compliance concerns resolved. Our work ensured the facility met OSHA regulations and fire codes, enhancing employee safety and providing a sense of security for all stakeholders.

With the manufacturing facility’s security issues addressed, the relationship expanded to headquarters, where the access control and surveillance systems are installed without delays or budget overruns. This ongoing partnership is a testament to Connext's ability to solve critical problems and deliver on promises, ensuring peace of mind for our clients.
